BIOGRAPHY Scott Bess Bess was appointed Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Goodwill Industries in December 2005. He is chief operating officer of Goodwill Education Initiatives, Inc., with responsibilities for the overall operations and strategic direction of Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, the public charter high school operated by Goodwill Education Initiatives. Bess also is responsible for all of Goodwill's technology functions. Bess came to Goodwill in 2001 as director of information technology and was named to the Goodwill Education Initiatives post in May 2005. Prior to joining Goodwill, Bess owned a technology consulting company, worked as an information technology executive in the public utility and health-care fields, and was a middle school mathematics and computer technology teacher. Outside of work, Bess has served on the Danville Community School Corporation board of trustees for the past 10 years and is currently the vice president of the board. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and education at Purdue University, and resides in Danville , Ind., with his wife and four children.
